Double O bike light by Paul Cocksedge Studio®

London-based Paul Cocksedge Studio® has launched a new product on crowd-funding website Kickstarter this week.

The Double O bike light comprises two round-shaped LED lights: one to be attached on the front part of the bike and emit a white light, the other to be attached on the back and emit a red light.

Smart and simple, Lucetta is a set of portable magnetic bicycle lights designed by Emanuele Pizzolorusso for Italian company Palomar. The small LED lights attach with magnets, so they can be used for a bicycle or any metallic surface.

Bamboo Bicycle Club is the creation of James Marr and Ian McMillan, two bike-riding engineers who wanted to share their passion for building bicycles with other riders.

"We want to transfer the skills and experience we have gained over the last two years – helping those riders who don’t have the time to research materials or test jig set-ups to realise their dream and own a bamboo bicycle which they have built to their chosen geometry."

With Empathy as the general theme for the 2013 edition of Saint Etienne International Design Biennale, designers across all exhibitions are contributing their own personal vision of how to improve our lives in the near or not so near future.

One exhibition in particular, Demain C'est Aujourd'hui (Tomorrow is Today), is showcasing prospective ideas to do so. While some projects are conceptual ideas that have no technical possibility of hitting the market soon, others could become our reality in a few short years.
