Gufram has refreshed its Multiples Collection with the new Summertime sofa, designed by Italian artist Valerio Berruti. The Summertime multiple is produced in 250 numbered pieces for each of its two colour combinations: optical white/copper green/tobacco and optical white/burnt sienna/brick red.
The sofa has deep seating, ideal for seating three people, and its motto "Summertime, and the living is easy" evokes the title of one of George Gershwin's most famous songs.
Produced in Italy, the indoor/outdoor sofa uses polyurethane foam (a material common to all Gufram Multiples), water-based paint and wax crayons, which are then varnished and fixed with the washable Guflac® Plus paint. Besides keeping the colours vivid through time, the coating also releases a natural delicate cinnamon and orange aroma.
Gufram as a company represents a major landmark in the history of Italian design: pieces from its back catalogue (such as the Bocca sofa, Pratone, and the Cactus coat stand) are kept in the world’s most important museums.
