Designed by product designer Qiyun Deng, Graft is a series of disposable tableware inspired by the organic forms and textures of fruit and vegetables.
Using bio-plastic, Deng imitates the fine texture and delicate colour nuances of onions, lemons, fennel and carrots. A celery stalk acts as a handle for a fork, an artichoke is transformed into a spoon and the dimpled surface of an orange skin inspires a surface for a bowl.
The collection remains connected to the origins of the material and encourages us to question how nature influences man-made, functional tools.
