Iris Prima: the scent of ballet

Tuesday, 25 June 2013

Fine fragrance house Penhaligon's has developed a new scent called Iris Prima that captures the spirit and beauty of ballet.

Due to be launched on 9th September, the scent is a collaboration between Penhaligon's, the English National Ballet and perfumer Alberto Morillas.

Iris Prima opens with fresh bergamot, green amber and pink pepper, notes inspired by the movement of the prima ballerina pirouetting in the spotlight. The heart is made up of iris absolute, jasmine sambac, hedione and paradisone, while the base features notes of leather, vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver and benzoin to add warmth and depth to the perfume.
