The Greatest Candle in the World

Thursday, 22 November 2012

Netherlands product developer Oil2Wax has found a way to make decorative scented candles from old frying oils, turning this polluting waste into a resource. Called The Greatest Candle in the World, the product features an unwhitened cotton wick in a recycled glass container, is packaged in recyclable paper printed with soya ink, and available in eight natural or neutral scents.

The brand also offers powered vegetal wax to mix in with one's own used oils.

Used frying oils are one of the main pollutants involved in the contamination of water. When they don't block the sink first, they create a thin layer on the surface of the water, preventing natural oxygenation and therefore destroying the surrounding fauna and flora.
