Styrofoam Art by Cheeming Boey
Armed with just a Styrofoam cup and Sharpie pen, illustrator Cheeming Boey has created a series of monochrome illustrations on a typically unvalued surface.

Boey's inspiration usually begins with a visual stimulant; TV, books, drawings, and occasionally a random thought. Then throughout the drawing process, the “mood” of the cups are based on the songs he listens to as he works on them.

Realising that not everyone can look past the fact that the foam cups are ‘disposable’, Cheeming Boey has wrapped them in casing. “I think the cases make them feel more important, and complete. Now it’s more of an ‘art’ piece. It’s all psychological”.

The cups can be purchased via etsy and HBL subscribers can view further print and pattern inspirations here.
