First Light by Dana Cannam for Another Country

UK manufacturer Another Country will launch its first lighting collection during Maison & Objet in Paris this September. Designed by Dana Cannam, the First Light pieces are made of brass and ceramics and will be available in three versions (pendant, table and floor) and three colours (black, natural and terracotta).

Shin Azumi, Tord Boontje, Sarah Campbell, Claire Norcross, Simon Pengelly and Aaron Probyn worked closely with the brand's creative director Polly Dickens to develop a range of statement pieces.

The Hero Light by Buster + Punch

British design brand Buster + Punch will launch its Hero light at Designjunction's show-within-a-show Lightjunction this September. Designed by Massimo Minale, the light is made of bronzed gun metal, brass, matte rubber and LED bulbs.

CHRISCROSS is a lighting installation created by Marco Hemmerling at Cologne's Luther Church. Comprising 500 dichroic cylinders, the installation changes its colour depending on the lighting effect and the viewer's angle.

Live from Milan: a new take on Memphis at Satellite

Malmö-based studio Swedish Ninja exhibited a graphic yet feminine collection at this year's edition of Salone Satellite. Maria Gustavsson's furniture mixes colour and materials in playful shapes that bring Postmodernism to mind. Marble is used alongside hand-stitched leather and lacquered wood, while neutral greys and powdered pastels are associated with brighter and deeper shades such as coral pink and smoked green.

London-based Paul Cocksedge Studio® has launched a new product on crowd-funding website Kickstarter this week.

The Double O bike light comprises two round-shaped LED lights: one to be attached on the front part of the bike and emit a white light, the other to be attached on the back and emit a red light.

Cycling safety lights by Veglo

Veglo has developed and created a range of innovative bike lights which aim to tackle driver’s inability to see cyclists in the hours of darkness. The Commuter X4 is made up of four fibre optic light guides and a projective central light. The light can be worn over the cyclists’ rucksack or placed directly on their back using straps which fit over the shoulders. When the fibre optic setting is switched off, the straps become their own reflectors to car lights. The device is water-resistant, USB rechargeable and durable, adjusting to multiple bag sizes up to 35 litres, and fits over rain covers.

Cherrybomb by Lindsey Adelman: Milan preview

Cherrybomb is a new lighting system created by American designer Lindsey Adelman for Nilufar gallery, due to launch during Salone del Mobile next month. A network of slender brass angular tubing is punctuated with hand-blown mini-globes, creeping up the wall and along the ceiling like a cherry blossom branch.

Hermès will broaden its home line at Milan Design Week this year with two lighting collections, Pantographe and Harnais, created by Italian designer Michele De Lucchi, and the portable, modular La Lanterne d’Hermès lamp, designed by French visual artist Yann Kersalé.
