Filipino furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue has created a limited-edition candle holder set to help the victims of typhoon Haiyan, which devastated huge regions of the Philippines last November. Developed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and the Habitat Youth Council, the majority of proceeds will be donated towards the rebuild.

The set comprises three candle holders in the shape of houses. They are made from hand woven wire mesh and mounted on a metal base, as a reference to traditional Filipino dwellings built on piles.

“I realized that I had to go beyond just the physical properties of a structure, and instead bring to light what made it a home. So I exposed the candle, to symbolize the human spirit burning brightly through the night. The work also comes in a set of three to emphasize my belief in the strength of family and community,” says Cobonpue.
