The Stack Series by Clemens Kois

Wednesday, 5 February 2014

Artist Clemens Kois sees potential in the every day, as portrayed through his still life Stack Series. He collects familiar objects found around his home, and uses them as part of unplanned vertical structures.

Collections of utilitarian household items including batteries, light bulbs and bobbins of thread are transformed into teetering, piled structures. Each item in the stack has a required sense of place, whereas it would remain unconsidered if left in it's place in Kois' home.

The ethos behind this series has links to our A/W 15/16 macro trend Everyday Utopias which subscribers to homebuildlife.com can read here.
