Koskela, Sydney: What's in store

Thursday, 13 February 2014

We're feeling inspired after a trip to Sydney design store Koskela, an old factory space that has been transformed into a studio, shop and restaurant. The weathered walls create a fantastic backdrop for the eclectic mix of locally sourced furniture, textiles, decorative accessories, tableware and gifts.

The kids' range is fun and creative with hand knitted soft toys, giant painterly prints and scribbled zigzag bedding.

VM is a highlight with tree branches constructed into a bedframe for kids and a four poster bed for adults, and a unique house-shaped display system.

The store regularly collaborates with local artists, and this month the collaboration is with local painter Regina Wilson, which has lead to a unique range of cushions and throws. Regina's expressive linear paintings have been transferred onto sheers, linen and silk fabric creating a vibrantly patterned collection.

We love these metal neon sculptures for indoors and out.

Make sure to have a bite to eat at the cafe during your visit, the homemade bread is very tasty!
