Nilufar presents Squat #3 in Beirut
Thursday, 2 January 2014
Milan's Nilufar Gallery has collaborated with Galerie Balice Hertling to present the 3rd edition of its Squat exhibition concept - which combines design, art and architecture - in Beirut, Lebanon. The ongoing project takes place in a different location each time, interacting with different audiences and environments.
The new location for the show is Metropolitan Art Society (Trabaud Street, Ashrafieh), a contemporary art gallery situated in the magnificent 19th century Bustros Palace.
The five room exhibition will be built on architectural and geographical contrasts. Projects by designers including Franco Albini, Piero Fornasetti, Hans Agne Jacobsen, Grete Jalck and Gio Ponti will sit alongside works by contemporary designers such as Lindsey Adelman, Martino Gamper, Zaha Hadid, Massimiliano Locatelli, Nucleo, and Bethan Laura Wood, and contemporary artists like Reto Pulfer, Isabelle Cornaro, Alexander May, Greg Parma Smith and Neil Beloufa.
The exhibition runs until January 2014.
