Handcrafted leather leads: Live from Zoomark, Bologna

British pet brand Houndcuffs have created a smart and stylish solution to the common problem of needing to quickly tie a dog to a railing, bench or lamppost. The brand's hand-crafted leather leads are all fitted with a patented tie-off hook beneath the hand-loop, which allows owners to easily secure their dog without getting themselves in a tangle.

Houndcuffs' collars and leads are handmade in the UK from English bridle leather, providing a hardiness normally reserved for equestrian needs. Each one is then double seamed and fitted with stainless steel or brass hardware for added strength and safety. To ensure comfort for both dog and owner, the collars and lead handles are lined with a super-soft leather which is easy on the neck and gentle in the hand.

Products are available in four natural shades including hazel, nut, tan and black, with contrasting white stitching. The clever concept is one of a raft of smart ideas for pets on show this week at Zoomark trade fair in Bologna.
