Seifried&Mack renovate Hotel Scholl

Offbeat interior designers Seifried&Mack have renovated the 15th century Hotel Scholl in Schwaebisch Hall, Germany, into a contemporary space with strong colours and unusual details.

The designers have contrasted clear surfaces against original features of the house, filling it with custom made furnishings and sculptures. New features include a grand gold curtain, laser-cut bird decorations flying across one wall, and an oversized sculpture of a foot made from Styrofoam.

"No right angles, rooms, that do not comply with modern standards, interfering levels . . . for us it was as much a challenge as an inspiration," say Seifried&Mack of their brief.
