During Milano Unica (Milan, 11-13 September) and Première Vision (Paris, 19-21 September), covering brand Alcantara will present the four new trends leading its autumn/winter 2013-2014 collection: Native, inspired by Native Americans, Norwegian Wood and Scotland; Sentiment, a romantic trend inspired by Coco Chanel; Urban Shapes, inspired by the film Metropolis; and Guggenheim, inspired by Peggy Guggenheim, art and travel.

Techniques used for the autumn/winter 2013-2014 collection include printing, embroidery, folding, laser engraving, embossing and drilling. And, for the first time, new techniques and combinations will be used - such as printing and embossing, dyed weaving, white resin and heat sealing.

The stand at Milano Unica is also an opportunity for Alcantara to celebrate the work of winners and finalists from the latest edition of Who is on Next?, a competition organised by Altaroma and Vogue Italia. All the main garments and accessories from the final catwalk can be viewed, including the winners' creations - for prêt-à-porter, Marcobologna, and for accessories, Giancarlo Petriglia, who created a dog-walking bag with Alcantara.
