Telephone concept by Gosia Babiak

Graduate designer Gosia Babiak has designed a concept for a telephone that encourages sharing. The proposal consists of a cluster of individual spherical handsets, displayed together and inspired in form by bowls of fruit - which Babiak describes as "a symbol of sharing".

The proposed user interface is intuitive: when friends or family call, the orbs light up in warm colours, while work-related callers emit a colder glow and unknown numbers create a clear glow.

Voice control enables the device to be button-free; if a number of name is not recognised when requested, orbs will flash twice to alert the user. The differing sizes of orbs correspond to different family members, with each person taking ownership of one size.
