HBL Exhibitions: Meet Design, Turin

Monday 31 October 2011

The outdoor: Dror Benshetrit (Tron Armchair for Cappellini) and Philippe Starck (Archimoon for Flos)
After a successful exhibition in the breathtaking scenery of the historic Market of Trajan in Rome (as pictured here), Meet Design is coming to Turin. From 4th November 4 until 25th January 2012, at Palazzo Bertalazone di San Fermo in Turin, the exhibition will take place - coinciding with celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

Patricia Urquiola: Pavo Real for Driade
November 4th - 6th, there will also Artissima : the most important art fair in Italy. So, Turin returns to being a capital of culture.

On show will be pieces from about 150 great designers, with objects that have made the history of design related to the most important companies. The common factor? Italy.

Riccardo Blumer and Matteo Borghi: Ghisa for Alias
The curator, designer and architect Marco Romanelli, aims to show a comprehensive and intelligent selection of items (glasses, lamps, chairs, cutlery, health, chairs, mirrors, vases) that really helps viewers to understand what design linked to Italy is, from 1948 to the present day.

Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina (Tolomeo XXL for Artemide), Fabio Novembre (Nemo for Driade)
But this is not just an exhibition. A full program of events (Meet People) accompanies the exhibition of objects (Meet Show) while a special section is dedicated to the promising new designers (Meet Talents). Meet Design will aim to prove that both the kitchen and the outdoor are the protagonists of fascinating insights.
