A pop-up florist specialising in black roses, tulips and lilies opened this morning outside London's Kingly Court, offering bouquets of flowers coloured with black ink in return for donations to charity.

Supermarket brand Waitrose previewed its seasonal food and gifting ranges for 2014 last week, including mallow hearts for Valentine's Day, Danish twists for Easter and frilly tulip bouquets with platters of Yumdoughs for Mother's Day.

Love Shack at The Conran Shop

The Conran Shop's Chelsea flagship has dedicated the whole of its event space, the Blue Room, to romance. From now until 18th March, the space will host Love Shack, a display of 800 gift ideas ranging in price from £10 to £10,000 and themed according to the six different types of love.

Specialising in anatomically correct products, the shop has been organised by Anatomical Snuffbox, an alternative events company founded by creative director Miss Cakehead and medical illustrator Emily Evans.

Design retailer Darkroom are to host a charity auction on behalf of Kids Company on 14th February 2011, the second in their now annual series of Valentine's Day auctions. Over forty designers, stylists and artists have already signed up to create unique artworks for the event, each to be sold for a set price of £150 on the night, and exhibited beforehand at the London shop.
