One of the most talked-about launches at consumer technology trade show IFA this year is Samsung's groundbreaking new smart watch, the Galaxy Gear, which is designed to communicate seamlessly with Samsung's smartphones.
Available in an initial range of six colours including rose gold, lime green and mocha grey, the watch can be commanded by swipe or voice control, and can take photos, compose text messages and make calls, among other features.
The smart watch is one of a number of connected devices that dominated IFA 2013 this year. Keynote speakers including Alan Mulally, CEO of Ford, and Turan Erdogan, CEO of Turkish appliance brand Vestel, described the shift as just the beginning of the digital age. Erdogan said: "What we have seen so far is nothing - just a fraction of what we'll see in the future."
