All of a Piece: innovative tableware

All of a Piece is a series of modular tabletop elements created through a collaboration between Netherland-based Earnest Studio and Dana Cannam Design. Various components in granite, marble, perspex and walnut wood are combined together with magnets to form different objects of various styles and sizes. Simple geometric shapes alternatively become trays, trivets, bowls or candleholders to adapt to every need as the elegant materials are juxtaposed into contemporary compositions.

Spring/summer 2014 textiles by Toast

Kantha stitch cushion cover

Toast's collection of soft furnishings for spring/summer 2014 is made of bedspreads, cushions and throws, all taking inspiration from Indian, Moroccan and Korean crafts.

Floor cushions are created from shredded recycled cotton and jute, silk cushion covers are hand embroidered using Kantha running stitch, bedspreads combine traditional block printing and stitching, while rugs are woven from coating coloured fabric and jute cord.

Nude Audio at IFA 2013

New San Francisco-based technology brand Nude Audio has launched a range of portable speakers at IFA 2013. Designed as an alternative to the multi-feature, super-premium brands that have dominated the market in recent years, the speakers are all priced under £100. They are available in three sizes - small, medium and large - and two colourways: charcoal with coral or grey with mint.

Samsung Galaxy Gear at IFA 2013

One of the most talked-about launches at consumer technology trade show IFA this year is Samsung's groundbreaking new smart watch, the Galaxy Gear, which is designed to communicate seamlessly with Samsung's smartphones.

Available in an initial range of six colours including rose gold, lime green and mocha grey, the watch can be commanded by swipe or voice control, and can take photos, compose text messages and make calls, among other features.
