Humanae project by Angelica Dass

The Humanae project by Brazilian artist Angelica Dass is a photography project that explores racial and cultural identity. Dass takes portraits of people of different genders, ages and races and then uses an 11x11 pixel sample of their face to create a unique Pantone colour.

The backdrop of the portrait is filled with the Pantone colour and then allocated an alphanumeric code which is displayed at the bottom of the image.

"What I really wish to do is to photograph all over the world" says Dass, who wants to create a skin tone catalogue of the entire human race.
