Chandigarh by Doshi Levien for Moroso

The Indian city of Chandigarh, known for its urban planning and architecture by Le Corbusier among others, is the inspiration behind Doshi Levien's new sofa collection for Moroso, which will be presented during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

The principles of modernism, seemingly incongruous with the city of Chandigarh and yet deeply rooted in its identity, inspired London-based designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien to create a quintessentially modern seating collection. "We see the Chandigarh sofa as the coming together of modern, sensual, graphic and eccentric qualities," they explain.

The seat is made from moulded foam in a tubular metal structure, and is available upholstered in either leather or canvas - with a print design by Doshi Levien that also pays homage to the city of Chandigarh.
