Artwork by New York-based artists and designers fill the space and push the local in
Anthropologie's new store - its first Upper East Side location, and fifth Manhattan branch.

The 10,000sq ft multilevel store was previously a movie theatre and
the store's facade, made of textured cement tiles and reclaimed oak,
maintains the look and feel of its former identity, standing out among
the Upper East Side's smaller boutiques.

Retail racks and display tables are mixed with interiors
merchandise: a bed is displayed in a loft-like nook on the second floor,
while a table filled with pebbles showcases stemware and flatware.
Localisation is a key element, with Anthropologie commissioning artist
Lindsey Adelman to make the one-of-a-kind brass and globe
chandelier.
