From magazine holders to outdoor lanterns, the miniature house shape is an example of designers' current quest for simplicity in product design, maximising functionality while adding a touch of playfulness.

The outline of a basic house, a gabled roof and straight sides, is used to create shelves, magazine holders and bookends, in line with WGSN-homebuildlife's autumn/winter 2012/13 macro trend, Radical Neutrality, which champions a less-is-more design aesthetic, and designs which are either serially produced or handcrafted.
