Blind Passengers by Julian Appelius and Karen Olze

Monday 6 February 2012

Designed by Julian Appelius and Karen Olze and produced by muse.creativ industries, Blind Passengers is a collection of tongue-in-cheek car window shades adorned with some of the most famous faces in the history of art.

The collection includes The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Vermeer, Raphael's famously bored angels, Boticelli’s Simonetta Vespucci, Spring by Arcimboldos, and the Royal Wife of the pharaoh Akhenaten - Nofretete.

The Metamodernistic carshades echo our autumn/winter 2013/14 macro trend, 21st Century Romance, where romance - be it from world-famous masterpieces or a more humble source - is the catalyst for inventive (and in this case slightly kitsch) designs.
