The shop's name is inspired by Toby's family business, which started as a barber shop in 1888 and grew to be a large distribution and sales company. "I wanted to bring some of the style and substance of my grandfather's era (including inspiration from some of his personal belongings which are in the store) into the present day, and also transplant some classic Melbourne style and charm into Los Angeles," says Hemingway.

Designed by Maurice Gadson Interiors, the shop features a fresh combination of old-world charm and modern design including finished wooden walls, modern display cases and clean lighting. Hemingway is looking forward to being involved in the local community and an art show by local artist Ashkahn is forthcoming, as are plans to bring Australian art to the Silverlake community.
