Israeli designer Boris Mogilevsky's latest project uses compacted table salt to encase meat, in a new take on a traditional preservation method.

The meat is then able to remain edible within its salty shell for many years - a fact Mogilevsky communicates directly to the consumer by printing an expiry date onto the product itself. This direct method is one of three key approaches outlined in WGSN-homebuildlife's latest report, Expiry dates in design, which investigates how brands and companies can communicate product lifespan to the consumer.
