Wallpiercing by Flos

Thursday, 24 February 2011

Wallpiercing, part of the Soft Architecture series by Italian lighting specialists Flos, has scooped a handful of design awards already this season and is now on show as part of the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2011 exhibition at London's Design Museum, where it has been nominated in the Product category.

The feature light, designed by Ron Gilad, is the winner of the Lighting category in Elle Decoration's  International Design Awards 2010/11, and also won Best Wall Light in the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2011.

The Soft Architecture series focuses on providing eco-friendly lighting solutions which follow the Cradle to Cradle sustainability philosophy - a design practice increasingly adopted by designers and brands.

The Brit Insurance Designs of the Year winners will be announced on 15 March, with the exhibition available for public view until 7 August 2011.
