Hampton Court Flower Show

WGSN-homebuildlife has just returned from the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, the largest flower show in the world, running from July 5-10 just outside of London. Show gardens and conceptual gardens animate the landscape while plant, flower and garden product developers offer a huge array of living ideas for avid gardeners and amateurs alike. Here are the first few glimpses of some key elements at this year's Hampton Court.

Chroma: Celebrating colour in photography by Michel Pastoureau (Thames & Hudson, 2010) does exactly as its title states: through 336 photos, Pastoureau demonstrates again and again the power of colour. The book is divided into six sections - by colour of course: red, blue, green, yellow, white and black.

Fort Makers at MoMA PS1

HBL favorite from ICFF, Fort Makers, has designed the stage for MoMA PS1's Warm Up 2011, a summer outdoor series of experimental live music that premiered this weekend and continues to run throughout August.

Artist Jeremy Hutchison's new project, entitled Err, began with him asking factories worldwide to create "incorrect" versions of the objects they create everyday. Hutchison agreed to buy the wrongly made item, but did not prescribe the fault he wanted, instead leaving it to the individual factoryworker to choose what to 'get wrong'.

One of the highlights of Show RCA 2011, this room divider by graduate designer Eva Malschaert allows the user to divide up their space using simply a curtain of fabric strips and a series of carefully-placed magnets.

The shortlist for this year's Latitude Contemporary Art Prize has been announced, with the winner to be revealed in a ceremony at the British arts festival on the 16th July. All five shortlisted artists will contribute commissions to be set within Latitude's woodlands, allowing the viewer to enjoy art in natural surroundings.

HBL Retail: Liberty Selects for Origin

London department store Liberty has once again joined forces with annual craft fair Origin. The retailer's Buying Manager for Home and Gift, Michelle Alger, has chosen thirty pieces from exhibitors at the fair to star in a series of five windows which will frame the exterior of Origin's pavilion in September. Here's a preview of what will be on display.

Students at French art school École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) have developed a collection of sculptural glass objects for the sixth edition of Design Parade, an event run by Hyères-based gallery Villa Noailles. Students worked with two glass specialists, the Centre International des Arts Verriers (CIAV) in Meisenthal and SALVIATI in Murano, Italy, and saw their most successful ideas manufactured by CIAV.
