Artisan Business Network at NYIGF

Friday, 25 January 2013

Launching at the New York International Gift Fair this weekend are a series of objects by the Artisan Business Network - a craft program supported by the HAND/EYE Fund which aims to improve the wellbeing of Haitians through culturally inspired arts and crafts.

The organisation funds workshops, materials and market access so that products can come to life and in turn help improve the lives of Haitians, through trade rather than aid.

Designs using papier mache, stone, beading, steel, and horn and bone are all incorporated into pieces reflective of Haiti culture and traditions.

The Artisan Business Network will be at Booth 33003, Pier 92 in the Artisan Resource section of the fair, which opens tomorrow and runs until Wednesday.
