Roots by Philippe Starck for Le Paradis de Fruits
Monday, 21 May 2012
French restaurant chain Le Paradis de Fruits has been revamped by Philippe Starck to celebrate its thirtieth birthday. The designer has applied a concept named Roots - which literally takes the brand back to its beginnings.
With walls and ceilings made of wood, the new look evokes the idea of being inside a ship's cabin or a hut in the forest. Pictures of both fruits and children making playful faces are hung everywhere to give a homely feeling to the environment, complemented with unique blown glass chandeliers created by French designer Aristide Najean.
To coincide with the brand's redesign, the menu has been reworked to include new recipes and also to revisit some old recipes, overseen by master chef David Wesmael.
