New furniture by G&T

This marble and wood table is by G&T, a new British furniture brand co-founded by Bethan Gray, who served as Habitat's head of furniture up until 2008. The brand's first collection is a series of solid wooden tables with wood, marble, and hand-stitched leather tops.

The leather-topped version is named Brogue, as a reference to the intricate wax-thread stitching on the side of the top, and also features leather on its base.

The collection is tailored to the contract market, with three marble options - black, grey and white - available for the Carve range, two choices of leather colour, and two different types of wood. Bespoke alterations in size, finish and base can also be made to any item in the range upon request.

The three-legged base style is a contemporary update of a traditional Welsh table, which was originally designed to balance on wonky slate floors.

The collection was on show at the Farmiloe Building this week as part of Clerkenwell Design Week.
