Broom chair by Philippe Starck for Emeco
Philippe Starck has collaborated with Emeco to create a sustainable chair from an entirely new material. Made from a compound of industry waste - collected in lumber factories and industrial plastic plants - this mix of wood fibres and reclaimed poplypropylene has a number of eco-friendly benefits: less energy, less waste and less carbon.

Starck says the name was inspired by "a humble guy who takes a humble broom and starts to clean the workshop and with this dust he makes new magic. That's why we call it Broom." The chair has just been launched at the Salone del Mobile, which runs until 22 April.
