Fixa Rummet: Hack-tivate kids' interiors

Wednesday, 7 March 2012

Fixa Rummet, translated as "fix the room", is an interior design show for children. Based in Sweden, presenter Isabelle McCallister (who also writes for the Dos Family blog) helps kids get the den of their dreams, with lashings of bright paint, ingenious hybrid furniture and vibrant bedspreads embellished by hand.

McCallister and her team of interior designers work creatively to their young clients briefs and have created many striking spaces, including an animal hospital themed playroom and an ocean wonderland.

McCallister takes a Hack-tivate approach to many of her bedroom creations, upcycling and mixing materials and themes; subscribers can read about this vibrant macro trend here.

Highlights include the upcycled saddle stall in this equestrian style makeover, which provides a clever and unique bedroom accessory. Find out more here.
