Château Monfort, Milan

With our expert's guide to Milan live just in time for Fashion Week, we highlight two new speed eateries and a fairytale hotel to dream in.

The Bagel Factory, Milan

For a taste of New York in the heart of Milan, head to The Bagel Factory, where you can enjoy a scrumptious hand-rolled bagel in an array of different flavours including organic tofu, hummus and herring. Following the success of the Navigli branch, the company has unveiled a brand new space in the Porta Vittoria area.

Temakinho, Milan
Temakinho is the first Brazilian temakeria in Europe. The restaurant is decorated with white square tiles, reclaimed wood patchworked walls and big wooden tables. The staff will serve you delicious temakis, Japanese-style seaweed cones stuffed with fresh fish and Brazilian condiments, all washed down with caipirinhas, fresh smoothies or guaraná.

Milan’s newest five star hotel, Château Monfort, opened its doors on 17 January and is located on Corso Concordia, a stone’s throw away from the glitzy Montenapoleone district. The magnificent Art Nouveau building boasts 77 rooms and suites, all decorated with fairytales, opera and ballet serving as inspiration.

Pastel shades, antique furniture and fittings, travel trunk dressing tables, canopy beds and tinted glass walls create an almost magical atmosphere. Those who can't stay should still visit the Mezzanotte bar and the Rubacuori restaurant, which serves up delicious and healthy regional Italian food in a setting of baroque furniture, ceramic taxidermy and patchworked wallpaper.
