21st Century Romance at Rough Luxe

Wednesday, 8 February 2012

Rough Luxe in Kings Cross, London is a perfect example of our autumn/winter 2013/14 macro trend, 21st Century Romance: in each space throughout the hotel, contemporary craftsmanship sits together with distressed design.

The Grade II listed townhouse was renovated in 2008 by designer Rabih Hage, who was inspired by the contrast of the old and imperfect with the newly polished and exquisite.  Original walls have been left distressed to juxtapose the sumptuous fabrics and hints of modernism found in the fixtures.

Each bedroom and bathroom is unique and artworks are often changed. It is a hotel full of contrasts, but they are contrasts which elevate the beauty of opposites.
