HBL Book of the Week: Living Architecture

Wednesday, 18 January 2012

Living Architecture by Dr. Rachel Armstrong (TED Books, 2012) explores the idea that a city can be built organically, creating 'living' buildings that can develop their own eco-systems and help us out of impending environmental crises. A particular focus will be last year's Japanese tsunami; Armstrong says the book will "ask how different the outcome would have been if the buildings were equipped with living materials".

The book will be available on Kindle from 7 February; in the meantime, HBL subscribers can read our interview with Armstrong.
