Design is increasingly taking on the techniques and processes of jewellery design - and vice versa - with a number of designers now practicing in both mediums. This cross-fertilisation of ideas has led to interesting new approaches - such as traditional fixing materials in jewellery, such as molten metal and liquid resin, being used to join furniture, and minerals and stones providing inspiration for form and surface pattern in design.
