Turning the Seventh Corner by Tim Noble & Sue Webster (2011) |
London-based art duo Tim Noble and Sue Webster have chosen the brand-new Blain Southern space in Berlin to stage their latest exhibition. With the aim of maintaining an air of mystery, the pair have created a labyrinth of tunnels that spiral, sprawl and ultimately disorientate, forcing viewers to become explorers.
After passing around seven corners, viewers enter a tomb-like cavern where the secret of creation is revealed. Inspired by the tombs of the Egyptian pharaohs, this exhibition coincides nicely with the ancient decadence of our spring/summer 2012 Primal Futurism macro trend.
Turning the Seventh Corner runs April 30 - July 16 2011 at Blain Southern, Potsdamer Strasse 77–87, 10785 Berlin. Open: Tuesday-Saturday 11am-6pm, free admission.
