Still Life: Inside the Antarctic huts of Scott and Shackleton by Jane Ussher (Murdoch books, 2010) documents the Antarctic huts which acted as expedition bases for Captain Robert Falcon Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton from 1895-1917.
Nigel Watson has written the accompanying essays, which illuminate the lives of the men in further detail and include extracts from their personal diaries at the time.
HBL loves: the sumptuous photography by Ussher, which provides a fascinating insight into a unique way of living.
