HBL News: Disegno magazine launches

This week, new magazine Disegno will launch its first ever issue. Investigating the areas of architecture, design and fashion, Disegno is a biannual publication which aims to offer insight into key events from the last six months, and serve as inspiration for the coming six.

Disegno’s founder and editor-in-chief, Johanna Agerman Ross says: “We want Disegno to be an accessible publication, but without losing any of the quality and attention to detail that you often find in more specialist design titles.”

Highlights from the first issue include a travelogue of the Japanese Inland Sea by writer Julian Worrall and photographer Iwan Baan, who explore the architecture of SANAA and Tadao Ando on the Naoshima, Teshima and Inujima islands; lunch with Parisian couturier Azzedine Alaïa and an interview with Mark Wilson, the curator of Azzedine Alaïa in the 21st Century, at the Groninger Museum in Groningen; and a game of Exquisite Corpse played by chef Heston Blumenthal, fashion designer Shelley Fox, architect Andrea Branzi and art critic Adrian Searle.
