Designer Louise Pettersson has made a collection of leather bags that contain tools and equipment for modern-day nomads. Inspired by "acts of doing" such as walking, eating, carrying and drinking, each piece relates to the use of fire as a primal way to keep warm, prepare meals, and shape tools.

Set on the banks of Arno river in Tuscany, the grand Villa La Massa has been the inspiration for a new home fragrance by Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria. The fragrance reflects the characteristics of the villa with a floral aroma enhanced by fresh citrus scents and softened with Rosa x centifolia and ylang-ylang.

Curated by Patrizia Moroso and Marco Viola, the new exhibition Lo Sguardo Laterale showcases a luxurious collection of silk by Italian brand Rubelli, applied to some of Moroso's best known pieces of furniture.

British lighting brand Rothschild & Bickers has launched Pick-n-Mix, a new glass lighting collection in a range of vibrant, complementary colours. The fixtures are available individually or as multiple drops, with an optional herringbone fabric-covered flex, and each one is priced at £295.

August smart lock by Yves Behar



American designer Yves Behar has teamed up with technology entrepreneur Jason Johnson to develop a smart lock. Called August, the device fits over a standard deadbolt, converting a key-operated lock into one that can be operated remotely by smartphone.
