Paris-based designer Samuel Accoceberry has designed a carpet collection for Chevalier Edition inspired by the spirit of plaiting - Tresse in French means plait or braid. Accoceberry has used the traditional  technique of hand knotting to create the contemporary rugs, made from wool and silk.

Japanese designers h220430 have designed a chair that can be put together by a child. Made from a single piece of EVA, the chair is inspired by the Japanese art Furoshiki, in which a single piece of cloth is wrapped to create a new form.

Deo Perfume Candy: fragrance in a sweet



A sweet that releases rose fragrance through the skin once consumed will hit high street stores across Europe this year, after launching in the US in late 2012.

The sugar-free body fragrance candy, called Deo Perfume Candy, will be available first in a French beauty store and an Italian fitness centre, and uses ingredients developed by Beneo.

French design brand Super-ette has launched a brushed stainless steel version of the Love Me Tender chair, which was designed by Didier Faustino in 2000. The new release is limited to 100 editions, priced at 3900 Euros each.

Sculptor and artist Sam Orlando Miller has created a range of patinated mirrors with optical effects. Untitled Mirror 5 (shown here) uses silver with nine shades of emerald green (2013's Colour of the Year) to create a faceted optical illusion.

Designer Alex Hull created this sofa for Gallery Fumi as part of its exhibit at art and design fair PAD London 2012. Called Split Sofa, the piece is made of leather and suede with a composite core, and is available in an edition of six.
