Korean artist and designer Jay Sae Jung Oh wrapped a collection of everyday plastic objects in jute to create the Savage Chair, which aims to make onlookers "reconsider the ordinary".

Retro living for birds



US Etsy shop Strictly For The Birds specialises in retro-styled bird houses inspired by camper vans from the 1940s and 50s. Made of aluminium sheeting and plywood, the houses are suitable for many small garden birds, including wrens, swallows and woodpeckers.

The Icecream Parlour by Central Saint Martins student Ploenpit Nittaramorn is a back-to-basics process for making ice cream, which seeks to question why we rely so much on machine-made produce. In the kit, Nittaramorn trades the electronic whisk for ritualistic tools and some old-fashioned human effort.

The Poetic Wind by Hengchong Yu



Central Saint Martins Industrial Design student Hengchong Yu has designed a living sunshade to be placed outside office windows. Called Poetic Wind, the piece is made from thousands of tiny, dual sided hexagons that individually rotate as a breeze passes through, referencing the movement of leaves.

Calia Italia has launched two new sofas, called Blues and Funky, which are both made up of versatile modular elements that can be mixed and matched.

Fortuny 2012 by Pallucco



Italian lighting brand Pallucco has launched an updated version of the Fortuny floor lamp that is clothed with Kvadrat's Steelcut Trio fabric.

Three colour options are available: black, blue and orange weave is used alongside the black version of the stand, while grey and violet tones match the titanium stand and white, red and black are paired with the white stand.

The art of display: object terrariums by Litill
