These five elegant lighting pieces by Gino Sarfatti were all designed between 1951 and 1971, and have been brought back to life as part of a collection called Edition No. 1 by Italian brand Flos.
The 2013 incarnations have been updated by Flos using the latest technology, improving functionality while leaving the original form untouched. Each lamp in the new line is based on LEDs and the marriage of contemporary, energy-saving light sources with the original form.
Active between 1939 and 1973, Sarfatti renovated and updated traditional typologies and invented new functions for light, designing over 600 lamps and light fittings - all produced by Arteluce, the company he founded in 1939 and sold to Flos in 1973.
